Camden drug dealer, buyer nabbed by police, authorities say

 CAMDEN — A Camden County Police officer observed drug activity early Tuesday at the corner of 5th and Vine streets, resulting in both the seller and buyer being arrested, according to the Camden County Police Department.
Kevin Santos, 22, of Camden, and Christopher Carey, 23, of Camden, were observed engaging in a drug transaction by Officer Cyndia Pimentel. Officers Anson Simmons, Angel Camacho and Ramon Birriel went to the scene at 8:40 a.m. and arrested both men without incident, authorities said.
Santos was allegedly found to be in possession of 13 bags of heroin. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school.
He was remanded to the county jail with bail set at $35,000 cash or bond.
The alleged buyer, Christopher Carey, 23, of Camden, was charged with loitering to commit a CDS offense. He was issued a summons and released.
Individuals charged with drug distribution are also served with a drug offender restraining order prohibiting them from returning to the area where they were arrested.
